Beacon Blog

Privacy Policy

The short version: Beacon Blog doesn’t collect any data. Your recordings, transcripts and posts are made and kept on your iPhone. We never see them.

Who we are

Beacon Blog is made by Beacon Frontier. If you have a question about this policy, email help@beaconfrontier.com.

What the app collects

Nothing. Beacon Blog has no account and no sign-in. The app doesn’t send your recordings, transcripts, posts or anything about how you use it to us or to anyone else. It contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it doesn’t use the advertising identifier.

How your words are processed

  • Your voice. When you tap Record, the app uses the microphone to record your talk. iOS asks your permission first. The microphone is used only while you are recording.
  • Transcription. Your speech is turned into text on your iPhone, using Apple’s on-device speech recognition or a speech model that ships inside the app.
  • Writing. Your post is written on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence’s on-device model. Your words aren’t sent to a server to write the post.

Where your data is stored

Your recordings (audio files), transcripts, posts and writing preferences are stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or a computer, this data can be included in that backup, which Apple and your device handle. We have no access to it.

When your words leave your iPhone

Only when you choose. If you copy a post, share it with the share sheet, or save it to Files, it goes to the app or place you pick. That app or service’s own privacy policy applies to what you send it.

Deleting your data

  • One post: open the post and choose Delete post. This deletes the post, its recording and the audio file. You can tap Undo for a few seconds afterwards.
  • Everything: in Settings, choose Delete all posts and recordings. After you confirm, the app erases every post, recording, transcript and audio file, and your writing preferences, from your iPhone. This can’t be undone.
  • Removing the app also deletes everything it stored on your iPhone.

Children

Beacon Blog isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version works differently (for example, if it adds optional accounts or sync), we’ll update this page before that version is released and change the effective date above.
