Positioning statement · 271 characters

Expecting parents want to bring the baby home ready, together — but the day ends up living in one person's head. Beacon Baby puts one log on both your phones: every feed, diaper and nap in one tap or one sentence, free to log and share, so whoever is awake already knows.

Boilerplate

Two paragraphs, ready to paste.

Beacon Baby is a one-handed iPhone app for tracking a baby's bottle feeds, nursing, diaper changes, and sleep. Its written design brief is a single sentence — "one hand, 3am, baby in the other arm, lights off" — and every decision in the app serves it: targets are sized for a thumb, confirmation is a haptic rather than a dialog, and any log can be undone in one tap from the undo strip that confirms it. A feed can be logged with one tap, because the button arrives pre-loaded with the amount you usually give at that hour, computed from your own history by plain arithmetic. It can also be logged by voice, in the app or through Siri, without looking at the screen.

Beacon Baby keeps the log on the device by default. There is no analytics and no advertising SDK, and until sharing is turned on the app contacts nothing when it launches — a launch-time request would emit a timestamped record of when a household is awake at 3am. Families that want one log across everyone's phones can switch on sharing, which is free and off until turned on; it requires an account, copies entries to a database isolated per household at the database level, and never syncs photos. Beacon Baby reports what was logged and never interprets it: there are no thresholds, no alert states, and no percentile or verdict attached to any number. It is a log, not a monitor.

Two things we would rather you got right

  • The free tier is not a trial. It never expires and needs no card. Everything used at 3am is free: logging, voice, undo, export, partner sharing, and the last seven days of trends. Plus starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; the free tier doesn't need one, because it doesn't end.
  • Beacon Baby makes no medical claims. It is not a monitor, not a medical device, and it does not tell anybody whether a number is normal. Please do not describe it as tracking a baby's health.

Pricing

Two tiers, exactly.
